This project is about giving those who ride the 88 South Leaside bus an opportunity to take this bus up to the South Bayview business district.

At present, the 88 South Leaside runs only to the south of the business district. Shoppers and those seeking medical or dental services in South Bayview have no TTC service to this preferred business district from the neighborhoods to the south.

Residents of Deer Park, Moore Park, Bennington Heights, South Leaside (including the Crestview Apartments and Talbot Apartments)  Thorncliffe Park and Hyde Park would have an opportunity to bring their business to South Bayview if there was service from the south.  Merchants would benefit. The TTC would add fare paying riders.

An imaginative and simple adjustment of the South Leaside route will accomplish this goal while maintaining the important commuter service to the St. Clair subway.

"A Bus to South Bayview" proposes an off peak service of one TTC bus now assigned to the 88 Leaside route. The service would run Monday to Saturday between the proposed hours of 9.30 to 4.30 p.m. This bus would follow the same route as all the other buses on the 88 Leaside route except that when it reached Bayview Avenue (heading either east or west) it would loop around Davisville, Cleveland and Belsize, stopping at Belsize and Bayview) before heading down Bayview and resuming the regular 88 Leaside route.
